Long time no blog...

its been more than a year since i last blogged... i wonder if there's anyone still come in here to check for any new post...

anyway... been quite a fruitful year for me in 2011... why?

1) I'm officially a graduate now! completed my SIM UOL BSc Banking and Finance exam in May and received my result in late Aug, though i only got the lowest Honours, i'm still relieved that i finally completed my studies...

2) Movies, Gala Premieres, Preview Screenings, Local and International movie stars... been there, done that... won quite a few movie invites this year, from Golden Village, U-weekly mag, and from my gf's nuffnang...

3) F1 !!! i've also won a couple of tickets from SingTel, the greatest was F1 tickets! which i get to watch LINKIN PARK Live!!!

4) besides getting tickets from SingTel for F1, i've also attended LOUD music festival courtesy of SingTel as well... got to see Jay Chou, Landy Wen, Soda Green, etc...

5) I've also won a phone from StarHub from their HUB It! contest... its s Black Berry Torch 9800. its the second time i've won a free phone, the other one was from SingTel last year, a Samsung Wave II. Besides the free phone from starhub, we also joined the HUB It! final task in search of spark's dream poodle... a massive treasure hunt in orchard area... though we missed out on the grand prize of $10K, it was still a nice experience...

6) last friday, i also won a special invite by starhub for the special screen of the most expensive TV Series filmed, Terra Nova... it was a overnight event at Singapore Science Centre, where we got to preview the 2 episodes special premiere, 24hrs before everyone else in singapore. we had games and freebies like sleeping bag, binoculars, food ratio, and we get to see the dinosaur live exhibition and slp with them at night.

Looking forward to more goodies, freebies, invites in the near future... the more we participate, the better chances we get to attending something special...

Next up is the TNP Big Walk next week...
There's also the SNSD, Girls Generation Concert in dec, though i dun think its possible to get the tickets becoz of their popularity...

2nd Year Anniversary: A trip to Universal Studios Singapore

even though 23rd july was our official 2nd yr anniversary, we had to postpone our visit to USS(Universal Studios Singapore) on sunday as i had to work on friday. well back to the trip... i won't say its a trip to die for... walking around and taking pics sure was fun and exciting, but it didn't last the whole day though... by ard 3 to 4pm, we were done trying all the shows and rides(almost 90%), and resting our feet and having lunch at a cafe...

we went to IMM to have our breakfast at McD, before waiting a long while for the bus 188R to take us directly to Resort World Sentosa... we reached at abt 9.40am and walked over to USS... there was quite a crowd outside the gates so we went to queue up for entry... after a few minutes, i looked back over my shoulder and found that the behind me was extending indefinitely... haha... the USS staffs allowed everyone to get in soon after even though it wasn't 10am yet and i was told that i could exchange for a $5 meal and $5 shopping voucher for each USS ticket i have...

after getting inside, we started taking pics and walked to the other end of the street of 'Hollywood', there everyone was told to wait for the official opening hours of 10am before we could explore the whole park... once the staff flagged us off, a few tourist started running as if it was a marathon...

1st stop: we decided to take the right turn into 'New York' area where we visited the 1st attraction of 'Lights, Camera, Action!' hosted by Steven Spielberg. its a dark room where we experienced a couple of special effects in the setting of new york city getting hit by a major hurricane... be prepared to get wet and witness strong winds and explosions... haha.. we continue to walk along the streets of the mock New York city until the Sci-Fi city... the sci-fi city had nothing much in them as the twin rides of the Battlestar Galactica was down for maintence. Furthermore, the 'Transformers' will only be ready in year 2011. So we moved on to the next area, Ancient Egypt.

2nd stop: i think its safe to declare that this ride is the best ride available in USS( for now at least). its the Revenge of the Mummy ride. this indoor ride is situated indoor, it has fast and sharp turns that will definitely get u screaming for more.. as we had to deposit our bags outside at the lockers, we couldn't take any pics of the ride. the lockers are available for free renting for the 1st 30mins, thereafter charges will apply and its not cheap unless u are in a big group.
3rd stop: we walked over to 'the Lost World' and tried out the Canopy flyer. the ride was ok but i was nearly killed on the ride... coz the buckle securing myself to the seat came off half way through... luckily the main securing mechnism was intact...
4th stop: Far Far Away. Next we visited the land of Shrek. we head straight into the queue for the 'Shrek 4-D adventure'. in 4-D i dun mean our singapore pool's 4D, the extra D is for the extra special effects that can be 'felt'... so we can see, hear and feel the action. straight out of the 4-D experience, we walk through the fairy godmother's potion shop and head over to Donkey Live show. this is an interactive show featuring the Ass in the Shrek Movie, i mean donkey. the donkey on the screen will interact with the audience with the help of the host, it can reply ur queries and call u by ur name, its truely interactive! haha... after that we went to take the 'enchanted airways' ride, which was a really short roller coaster...
5th stop: our 'last' stop is the Madagascar, which completes the whole area of the USS park. the Crate adventure is still in preparation for opening. there isn't much in this area in terms of rides but u can sure take a few more pictures...
we were back at Hollywood to explore it further... we went into the giftshops and took pics with the animated cartoon characters like Kung Fu panda, woody wood pecker and Frankenstein.. these are the only cartoon character available for photo-taking in the hollywood area.
next up, we continue to go for our 2nd round of walk ard the park. at the New York area, there was a street dance act on show, after that we went to queue at the Pantages Hollywood Theater for the monster rock and roll musical. we started queuing at 1.30pm for the 2pm show... half an hour later, we walk over to the lost world to catch the 'WaterWorld' live show abt the future world. its full of splashes and explosion and fireworks. if u wanna get close to the action, be ready to get wet for nothing... haha...
all these walking ard made us really tired... so we looked ard for a resting area for lunch... he chose Mel's Drive-in where we feast on crispy chicken burger and beef-chilli hotdog... not wanting to waste time we continue to explore the park for more pics to be taken.. haha... we also went for our 2nd ride on the Revenge of the Mummy... we waited the the madagascar characters to come out at 5.30pm to take pics with them before doing some late shopping with our $10 voucher... by the time we left USS, it was abt 6.20pm...
we went over to hershey to buy some choco before heading to the bus bay for the free bus ride to jurong east... we had to wait 45mins for our free ride though and by then we were super tired and sleepy...
that's all for my report on Universal Studios Singapore... for all the pics taken pls visit my facebook photo album.

3 phones to choose, which will it be?

First we have the Samsung Omnia 2... the phone has function i want but also comes with its hefty price tag... recontract with M1 will still need me to part with ard $498... but the phone is cool though... running using WM6.5, got 5mp camera, 3.7" AMOLED screen...

Next up is the HTC Touch2, which recently debut a few weeks ago... it too comes with WM6.5, 3.5mm earphone... though there's no radio.. it comes at the price of $338

Lastly... the latest.. HTC Tattoo... it doesn't boost a huge screen like Omnia 2 but still does pack a punch with all the usual features... it comes cheap too... at $198 now... maybe it promo price... coz its retail price is more than Touch2...

Was at Plaza Singapura for a walk when me and michelle came across a live filming.. for what upcoming drama we do not know, but the director was previously an actor, experienced... we only saw 2 familiar actors one is the pink shirt guy, the other was tang yu shu(whom was watching the filming at one corner, presumebly waiting for his scene)... the main actress we can't figure out who she is, maybe someone new...

And we saw Momo again... this time is 7 different colors... so cute... too bad its only for display... recently just bought a Giant Momo at 'More Than Words'... its so huge... sized like a small kid... If any of you sees any collection of Momo plush/PostPets soft toy, please info me... thanks... right now there's only 2 known places selling, the main shop at IMM and PS, and the toy catching machines at marina square...
